In search of cohesion

Cohesion is the order of the day. I have written several pages of nonsensical blurbs, transcribed lyrics, etc., and now I must organize them into an intelligible unit. I would like to have five complete pages by the end of the week. Since today is Friday...

In other news, Heidi Feldman's book on the African Music Revival in Peru is amazing. It was a huge help to me in researching for this article, and I highly recommend it to music- or Peru-lovers out there. For an academic text, it was a page-turner.

Bodies... of work

I want to work on my mamabodies article about adoption and the mothering body even though I should prioritize starting the new book chapter. So: I'm going to try to make little bits of progress on each, or at least the following by next Wednesday, June 22.

Michelle's to-do List:
For the book chapter: I will order the new novel I want to write about. I will first check my research funding deadlines. I may put off the ordering if dates insist and work on the other novel section in the meantime.
For the article: I will freewrite a framework so that I can get a better idea of what my theoretical and factual holes are.

Progress

This morning I sent off interview questions to the Afro-Peruvian music group that is the subject of my forthcoming article. Progress! No forward motion since then, but I am hoping inspiration will strike before 5PM. Next goal: Two original pages of written work by Monday, June 13.
